North Thurston High’s RAMS in Action Club is at it again. The group, led by club advisor Joe Pallitto, has been a beacon for safe driving over the years as they honor Joe’s step-daughter, Jena, who was tragically killed in a drinking and driving accident.

Their goal is to make sure this never happens again and they have joined with State Farm’s Celebrate My Drive in their fight against distracted and drunk driving.

“Our school is committed to keeping our students, staff, and community members safe on the road, and that is why we are participating in this program,” says Joe Pallitto, club Advisor.

RAMS in Action’s goal is to secure as many safe driving commitments as possible during National Teen Driver Safety Week. Be on the lookout for community announcements and events throughout Lacey from October 18 – 27.  The RAMS need to get the entire community involved to detour distracted and drunk driving.

“We are excited and want to get the entire North Thurston community involved.  We want everyone to drive safely and pay attention every minute.  That means no cell phones while driving,” says Xuanmai Vo, club President.

By participating in the Celebrate My Drive campaign North Thurston High School is eligible for one of two $100,000 grants or one of 90, $25,000 grants. In addition, two lucky high schools will win a concert from the Original American Idol and Grammy Award winning star Kelly Clarkson.

To make a safe driving commitment and support North Thurston High School anyone can vote at Celebrate My Drive between October 18 – 27.  There is a limit of one vote per email address per day during this time period.

North Thurston High is committed to safe roadways in Thurston county and they need your help to win one of these grants. This money will help drive their message on this personal topic for years to come.

Everyone is encouraged to commit to safe driving and vote during National Teen Driver Safety Week! Visit their Facebook page for more information and to set a reminder to vote.
