With a nation coming off of Occupy movements and facing an important election this fall, there’s no better time to laugh at politics before it gets more serious.

With that in mind, the South Puget Sound Community College Drama Program presents View of the Dome, a humor-filled tale of political corruption, ingratitude and revenge. The play comes to the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Black Box Theater beginning Aug. 16.

View from the Dome follows an idealistic, young Washington attorney who persuades her former law professor to run for Congress. Ideals shrivel in the Washington air as the professor is swept into an insider’s circle that includes a leering, power drunk senator and a slinky Southern power broker.

The play runs Aug. 16-19 and again Oct. 4-7. The Aug. 19 and Oct. 7 shows begin at 2 p.m., and all other shows begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 for the general public, and $10 for students, staff and faculty. Tickets will be available online at OlyTix.org, or by calling (360) 753-8586.

For additional information, call (360) 596-5411.
