2012 Housing Summit To Look At The State Of The Housing Industry

OlympiaThe Olympia Master Builders and Thurston County Realtors® are hosting the 2012 Housing Summit, on Wednesday, May 23rd from 10 am to 2 pm at Indian Summer Golf & Country Club.  The Summit will address timely questions and concerns, such as:   What’s happening at the Federal and State level that will affect local housing market?   What are successful builders doing in this economic climate?  How will the Shoreline Master Programs, Thurston County Critical Areas Ordinance and other regulations affect the building industry and property insurance?  What does the housing forecast look like?  “The Housing Summit is an opportunity for OMB and The Thurston County Realtors to provide quality information on the housing market in Thurston County,” said, OMB President James Peterson.

A few of the Housing Summit speakers and topics are:

  • Art Castle, Executive Vice President, Building Industry Association of Washington, Jan Himbaugh, Government Affairs Director, Building Industry Association of Washington and Nathan Gorton, Government Affairs Director, Washington Realtors® share information concerning current National and State issues affecting the housing industry.
  • Richard “Mick” Phillips, Phillips Wesch Burgess, PLLC and Angelia Wesch, Phillips Wesch Burgess, PLLC will share information about local regulations and issues and how they affect the housing industry.  
  • Suzanne Britsch of New Home Trends will present a Housing Forecast for Thurston County.
  • A Builder/Realtor® panel of experts will discuss what is happening in the housing industry today.
