Saturday May 14th:                        Celebrate our local heritage at the Prairie Appreciation Day festival in Tumwater from 3-5PM! Held in the Glacial Heritage Preserve (Mima Road
Tumwater, WA 98512), there will be a great variety of activities to engage in that provide interesting peeks back into the culture of the Nisqually area, as well as its wildlife, geology, and the baffling Mima Mounds. In addition to the educational aspects of the event, there will also be fun activities for the whole family such as hayrides, scotch broom pulls, and Wildflower walks. This is a great way to take advantage of the outdoors, and the good weather this weekend. The event is free, however no refreshments will be provided so it is encouraged that you bring a picnic lunch. In addition, no pets are allowed in the preserve.
