Jess Caldwell founder of Wildkind Academy, is thrilled to welcome you to a beautiful forest trail in Olympia at Millersylvania State Park to explore our spring plant ally, Urtica Dioica (stinging nettle). You will receive a Field Notes Plant Ally sheet to take a deep dive into edibility, medicinal uses and utilitarian function. Bring a lunch to picnic in community with fellow foragers and enjoy homemade nettle cookies. Multiple recipes will be shared to use with your wild harvest.
Humans were meant to interact with the many gifts of nature. Our intimate connection to the wild begins with observation, direct interaction and an open mind and heart to welcome the opportunity to learn and engage. Jess will introduce the concept of a “Sit Spot” and we will activate the senses to engage nature in a more profound way.

Can’t make the live event? No problem! There is a virtual course being offered through Zoom on Thursday April 13. See Courses Page on the Wildkind Academy website for registration.
