Thurston Conservation District and the City of Olympia would like to invite you to Orca Recovery Day on October 14th, 2023, from 10 AM – 2 PM at Squaxin Park in Olympia.
Orca Recovery Day (ORD) is an annual, region-wide day of action that brings folks around the Salish Sea together with one goal in mind: supporting orcas through advocacy, habitat restoration, and reducing stormwater pollution. It’s a day to celebrate what’s great about the Pacific Northwest and our most iconic species and inspire people to act in their own lives to help protect it.
TCD and the City of Olympia will host ORD at Squaxin Park where volunteers will remove non-indigenous species and replace them with plants native to our area. We will have community partners present to answer questions, and all tools and snacks will be provided. This is a great networking opportunity for those interested in getting more involved!
