Auto Glass Professionals in Olympia Continues 40 Years of Business

David and Dallan purchased Auto Glass Professionals in June 2020, continuing to serve existing customers at the long-time, familiar location on Pacific Avenue. David is the company president. Dallan is vice-president, and both are United States Army veterans. After working a variety of jobs in the Army, David retired in 2014 as a first sergeant. Dallan, also a first sergeant, currently serves in the U.S. Army Reserves for logistics management.

“Once this business became available,” David says, “it was a chance for Dallan and I to be able to use the tools that we have learned throughout the years within the military, as far as processes and procedures and things of that nature.”

Working alongside a number of their immediate family members, one in customer service, one as a technician, and another in sales and marketing, they are indeed a family operation. All of the employees are all like family too, and the shop dog is an additional friendly face.

“Ozzy, who we call our CFO – our Chief Furry Officer – welcomes a lot of customers in, which is really nice,” David says. “He’s got a very good temperament, and everybody loves a shop dog.”

Being a local, mom-and-pop business means customers hear a live person answer the phone. Furthermore, customers see that person greeting them with a smile when they come to the shop. Patrons can also be assured that customer service representatives work regularly with auto insurance companies and take the time to make sure their customers understand the process and the work being done on their vehicle.

Auto Glass Professionals in Olympia Gets Service, Safety and Technology Right

When a damaged window affects the safety of commuting, the friendly help and experienced support at Auto Glass Professionals puts customers at ease. They take a high-tech process and put certified technicians on the job.

Windshields are a major component of vehicle safety, and they are on top of the newest tools and training. Recognizing that most of the cars on the road today require Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration, Auto Glass Professionals moved forward with the technology, and their technicians are Auto Glass Safety Council qualified and AUTEL certified in calibration.

Before a job is complete, Auto Glass Professional technicians perform a dual, static and dynamic calibration to ensure that the vehicle is recalibrated with the new glass sensors for blind spots, lane keep assist and collision avoidance technology. Photo courtesy: Auto Glass Professionals

“The technology in the glass is a safety feature that communicates with the computer and the car,” Dallan says. “The camera, which is attached to the glass, lets you know if you are within the lane or helps the braking system, the adaptive cruise control. The camera helps regulate and operate that correctly. If it’s not correct, your adaptive cruise control may not work properly and possibly cause an accident. It’s important that the ADAS is calibrated correctly in order for those safety functions on the vehicle to work properly.”

Prior to installation, Auto Glass Professionals technicians must pre-scan each vehicle to detect any previous faults preventing recalibration. A post scan is done after each installation to ensure the vehicle camera is properly re-calibrated.

“Our main concern is the safety of our customers and making sure that they’re treated well when they come in and even after they leave,” David says.

In some situations, off-site, mobile services may even fit some customers’ situations. Fleet vehicle service is part of their repertoire too, and they currently serve all state-owned vehicles in the Olympia south region.
