Santa Claus is Coming to Ralph’s Thriftway December 3

Santa welcomes you to embrace the holiday season with a visit to Ralph’s Thriftway on December 3 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Jolly Old St. Nick will pose with you for fun photos from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. All you need is your camera, your children, or anyone who believes in the joy of seeing the man in the red suit and a twinkle in in his eye.

A mother suggested to her young daughter they might be able to see Santa at the grocery store. The little girl was incredulous asking, “Do you think he needs to get milk for his cookies?” Of course, he does. And you do too!

Everyone can watch the celebratory tree lighting and listen to carolers from the Gospel Outreach of Olympia. Inside the store you can participate in a decorating activity at the bakery, and there will be face painting. Samples of holiday foods and beverages will be tempting you throughout the store. There’s nothing like a sip of eggnog or a sample of chocolate to inspire your holiday imagination. Find holiday recipes, snacks, and countless possibilities for thoughtful meals and gifts when you visit Bayview on Saturday December 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Holiday Spirit event features mini culinary seminars from The Bayview School of Cooking. Additionally, vendors will be on hand to entice you with cheeses, deli items and sweets. You can receive discounts on selected wine, and you’ll earn 20% back on your rewards wallet on all housewares and gift items.

To whet your appetite, but not to overwhelm you, here are some of the participating vendors. Cheeses are from Sartori, Bel Gioioso, Kingsten, Cambozola, Face Rock and Yancy’s Fancy.

Deli items are from 11 Olives, Columbus Salami, and La Panzanella. There’s bakery fun from

Boulart Breads. Holiday treats from Chehalis Mints, Seattle Chocolates, Muddy Buddys, and Choc Zero. You can taste Bayview’s own crab cakes and Painted Hills prime rib. Mountain Stream Mushrooms has five local varieties.

Thirsty? Taste Claddagh cold brew or Magic Kombucha.

Bayview Catering’s Ready-to-Eat Holiday Meals are a Delicious Way to Save Time

Your holiday team at Bayview Catering stands ready for your order for a memorable feast. The fresh meals will be able to satisfy 8 to 10 people or leave a few scrumptious leftovers for a slightly smaller crowd. For those who really want a whole roasted turkey for soup and sandwich makings, but find your time too squeezed, you’re in luck. You can get the entire bird. Orders must be received by 3 p.m. on December 15 with the last pick-up time 2:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

The turkey meal is accompanied by herbed stuffing, roasted corn, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry orange relish, and roasted corn. The baked ham is sent with scalloped potatoes and butter pecan carrots with a brown sugar glaze. Bayview’s prime rib meal is served with au jus and horseradish, grilled asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. All choices include freshly baked rolls.

Yes, you can pick up a pie while you’re there. Bayview has an abundance of professionally made desserts.
