South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) celebrated 15 Dental Assisting program graduates at a pinning ceremony at Priest Point Park on Aug. 25.

“This cohort of students didn’t have an opportunity to be all together during their time in the program,” said Laura Moe-Genther, Director of Dental Assisting. “This ceremony was the first time, and we know they’ve created bonds that will last a long time.”

The program is known across Thurston County for producing highly prepared dental assistants, and includes both hands-on externships at local dental clinics and patient care in the Campus Dental Clinic. This year, 9 out 16 pinned graduates were hired locally before they completed their externships.
