The Port of Olympia Commission invites citizens to attend Commission meetings via remote access and sets new guidelines, including a 9:00 a.m. day-of deadline, for public comment.
The Port of Olympia Commission began conducting its meetings remotely on March 9, 2020 due to the threat posed by COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus). If a citizen wishes to give public comment they must sign up in advance or submit written comment by 9 a.m. on the day of the meeting. Written public comments will be compiled and sent to the Commission prior to the meeting start.
How to join the meeting:

How to submit written public comment:
Written public comments may be submitted to commissioncoordinator@portolympia.com by 9 a.m. on the date of the meeting.
How to sign up for verbal public comment:
If you wish to make verbal public comments during the meeting, you must sign up in advance by 9 a.m. the day of the meeting by emailing commissioncoordinator@portolympia.com.  Please indicate the method in which you will be giving public comments (computer or phone).  Only those persons that sign up in advance will be called on to make verbal public comment during the meeting. Individual public comments are limited to three (3) minutes per person.
On March 16, 2020, the Commission adopted Resolution 2020-03 authorizing certain emergency powers in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, including invoking applicable emergency exemptions to meeting notice requirements and location restrictions of the Open Public Meetings Act (Chapter 43.20 RCW). Pursuant to Resolution 2020-03, the Port of Olympia Commission will conduct its meetings remotely, until further notice.
