Ready to begin building health habits for life? At risk for developing Type 2 Diabetes? Ready taking preventative action? Help is on its way! Providence Medical Group – Boldt Diabetes is now accepting applications for a Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) which will be offered in West Olympia (beginning March 5) and Lacey (beginning April 8).

DPP is a CDC recognized, year-long program, proven lifestyle change that helps participants lose weight and cut their risk of diabetes in half. Group classes meet weekly for the first 4 months, then twice monthly, then monthly, with a maintenance group meeting ongoing.
View the PreventT2 flyer for more information. Call 1-855-776-4362 for information/registration. This program is covered by Medicare for qualified individuals. Others should check with their insurance provider about covering the cost of the program (about $442 for the year).
Applications are now being accepted for patients that meet the following criteria:
- Be 18 years or older
- Have a BMI > 25, or 23 if of Asian descent. Find out your BMI here.
- Have at least one of the following:
- Fasting blood sugar of 100-125 mg/dL (110-125 mg/dL for Medicare members)
- Hemoglobin A1c of 5.7%-6.4%
- History of gestational diabetes
- Diabetes risk score > 5** (Risk Test at info session or here.)
