Skokomish’s Lucky Dog Casino does their best to make sure every visitor feels like the luckiest dog in the world. They offer decadent dining options at the NorthFork Grill like steak and shrimp scampi for only $9.99 every Sunday, free BLINGO every Tuesday from 5:00-9:00 p.m., and concerts by some of our region’s finest musical talent.
This year marks their first outdoor movie night series beginning Friday, June 17 at 9:00 p.m. “The goal is to really provide a family friendly environment to watch some classic films that are nostalgic but still entertaining today,” explains Marketing Manager Jonathan Schmitt.
Movies from the 60s, 70s, and 80s will be shown on a large outdoor screen and paired with themed car displays. “The movies came out of discussions while we were planning a car show with the Yesteryear Car Club of Shelton. We are hosting their car show on Saturday, July 16, but wanted to make it bigger so we decide to create an Outdoor Summer Movie Series on select Fridays in June, July and August. And now we are getting ready for the first installment on Friday, June 17!” continues Schmitt.
Sponsored in part by Skokomish Tourism, these events are free and open to all ages. There will be food and beverage options provided by the NorthFork Grill and nearby Twin Totems Convenience store. Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
The first movie will be 1968’s The Love Bug paired with an array of Volkswagen’s finest. While Herbie himself won’t be on-site, it’s hard not to smile when surrounded by the world’s most cheerful-looking car.
Friday, July 15 dig out leather jackets and warm up your vocal cords for a rousing showing of Grease. The cars that night will be some of the finest of the 50s and 60s polished like greased lightning.
The last film of the season is Back to the Future on August 19, with on-site DeLorean’s to fire up the imagination. As of 2007, only 6,500 DeLorean’s were thought to remain so come explore their gull-winged glory while you still can.
