Sparky the Firedog would feel right at home at The Office Bar and Grill in Tumwater, WA. Waitress April Ramirez has worked at The Office since 2008 but since 2011 she is also a full-fledged fire fighter for South Kitsap Fire and Rescue. After graduating from South Puget Sound Community College, she gave up her part time job and devoted all of her energy to an intense year of probation with SKFR.
The Office owner Mitzie Phegley is happy to report that April is back, working part time to provide extra help for a busy event or if someone just needs a little time off. April says she has the best of both worlds by serving people in emergency situations as well as serving people in a more relaxed, fun environment. She credits The Office for “making it possible for me to follow my passion in the fire service”. April was recently featured on SPSCC’s catalogue cover, honoring her success as a graduate of that institution.
