Lacey Parks and Recreation hosted its 2nd annual “Rampage at the RAC” extreme obstacle course event on Saturday, October 13, 2012, at the city’s Regional Athletic Complex.
The 110-acre athletic complex, known for its state-of-the-art sports fields, was transformed into a 5K challenge course that required participants to crawl through a pit of mud, race over junk cars, run up a steep hill of sand, careen down a giant slip-and-slide, high-step through a field of tires, crawl through a giant tunnel, navigate a web of ropes, slither in a pool of green gel, and leap across fire (among other things). There was just shy of 1000 participants this year.
