The program runs from September through June. Participants meet once a month to learn about community issues, build relationships and explore opportunities for leadership. Through discussions, site visits and group and individual activities, class members examine a range of topics, including business and economic development, government, education, health and human services, law and justice, the environment, and arts and culture.
Applications are due May 15, 2012, and class size is limited. The cost of the program is $1,750, and participants must live or work in Thurston County.
LTC was founded by local leaders in 1992 to develop a renewable pool of informed, skilled and engaged civic leaders committed to making the South Sound region a great place to live, work and play. It is a program of the Thurston County Chamber Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) educational, non-profit organization.
