Olympia author Mary Frances Carney will read from her new novel, “A Parish Near Ebbets Field”.
Ebbets Field, home of the Brooklyn Dodgers, was the heart of the city in the early ’50s, and the parish formed a center of identity for the church faithful. The church clock tower tolled the rhythms of the day, uniting everyone in the intrigues and intricacies of human activity. Irish humor and folklore are woven into the fabric of this novel, which combines a love story and a tale of an old jealousy among friends.
