The arrival of warm weather means it’s time to toss aside your heavy winter coats and head out to join the community at the annual Lacey Spring Fun Fair, taking place May 17 and 18, 2025, on the Saint Martin’s University campus. This year’s two-day fair features rides, games, live entertainment, a S.T.E.A.M. Fair (Saturday only), a car show (Sunday only), Kids’ World activities, plenty of food, artisan and commercial vendors, and more!
Since 1988, the Lacey Spring Fun Fair has provided free activities and entertainment for thousands, and it is one of the City’s larger events. “It’s been a staple for so many years,” says Lacey Parks, Culture & Recreation Supervisor, Jeannette Sieler, who coordinates the fair. “The thing I like best is that it’s a great way to connect with your community.”
The 2025 fair is open rain or shine on Saturday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mark your calendar now for this popular weekend outing that’s been bringing community members of all ages together for relaxing fun for decades.

The 2025 Fun Fair has something for everyone, from rides to food and much more. “There’s lots going on,” says Sieler.
- S.T.E.A.M. Fair. These booths and free activities explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math on Saturday, May 17.
- Kids’ World. A place for kids of all ages, Kids’ World features 50 booths located in the University’s Marcus Pavilion. Kids’ World is full of fun, free crafts, games, entertainment, and more provided by local businesses and organizations.
- Rides and Entertaining Attractions. Free rides include pony rides are back for the first time in several years! Rides also include Ballistic Swings, the Circus Train, an obstacle course, a kids bounce house, and the new Mind Winder Double Spinner. Local groups will provide free entertainment on the two stages, including the River Ridge Jazz Ensemble, the Aspire Middle School Jazz Band, the Mountain View Marimba Band, the Studio West Dance Academy, the Olympic Ballroom Dance, and many others. See performance schedules here for Saturday and here for Sunday.
- Great Fair Food and Local Wares. What would a fair be without great food and offerings from talented local artists and vendors? “There’s tons of great food and snacks,” says Sieler. Bring your family and your appetite to this fair where more than 75 commercial, artisan, and food vendors will participate. Food and items sold in the vendor area are priced individually by vendors.
- Car Show. Sunday is Car Show Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., where you can bring your ride and participate or just enjoy strolling through the show, admiring all the cool vehicles. Kids and adults are encouraged to vote for their favorite vehicle with a “People’s Choice” award and a “Kids’ Choice” award will be handed out. All vehicle makes and models, including motorcycles, are welcome with a $20 cash entry fee (payable on the day of registration only).
- Sensory Recovery Area. The Sensory Recovery Area, provided by Sensory Toolhouse LLC of Lacey, is a sensory friendly space for anyone needing a quick break from the excitement happening at the event. Designated space in the Worthington Center provides low lighting, a calming atmosphere, sensory regulation activities and tools, and a quieter space. Fairgoers can also check out noise canceling headphones, ear plugs, and sensory calming tools.

Free Parking and Convenient Free Shuttles to and from the Lacey Spring Fun Fair
The Saint Martin’s University’s Lacey campus is located just off Interstate 5 (Exit 109), and the fair is near the Marcus Pavilion on campus at 5300 Pacific Avenue SE. Limited free parking is available in the large lot off Franz Street and smaller lots off Baran Drive. However, Sieler says fewer campus parking spaces are available this year due to recent construction. But – no worries – you can also park at the nearby South Sound Center shopping mall and ride a shuttle to campus—all free! The shuttle departs every 15 minutes from the Civic Plaza Pavilion near Applebee’s and drops you off right at the fair.

Plan Now to Join the Local Community at the Lacey Spring Fun Fair May 17-18, 2025
Sieler says working on getting ready for this year’s fair launch has been the product of helpful community support from sponsors, plus lots of volunteer work. “We have a great volunteer committee,” she says. “Some of them have done it for the entire 37 years (of the fair).”
You can plan now to join them and the local community for two days of free local entertainment at Lacey Spring Fun Fair. The Lacey Spring Fun Fair website has lots more details, including a list of vendors and performers, an FAQ, and a map of the events and activities.
