About Pesticide Free Parks
Over the last several years the Olympia Parks Department has striven to be environmentally conscious with regard to their landscape maintenance techniques, reducing and/or eliminating pesticide use in many areas including neighborhood parks. Current landscape maintenance practices rely heavily on pesticide-free practices such as; mulching, flame weeding, hand weeding, etc. as well as utilizing volunteers to help control unwanted vegetation.
