Beginning Monday, June 3, 2013, the north and southbound inside lanes of Capitol Boulevard SE, from “M” Street SE to “E” Street SE, will be closed to traffic to allow a contractor to plant trees in the median.   Left turn lanes at Linwood Avenue SW and “E” Street SE will remain open.  Work will take place daily, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., throughout the month of June.

It is recommended that local travel through these areas be minimized and that alternate routes be used when possible. Buses and emergency vehicles will have priority access through the construction zone.

Skyline Landscaping, LLC is scheduled to remove underlying concrete and plant 34 street trees in the median of Capitol Boulevard between “M” Street and “E” Street.  These trees will replace those lost in the January 2012 ice storm.  This work is expected to be complete by June 28, 2013.  The contractor will provide traffic control signs and flaggers to alternate traffic flow through the area. All lanes will be open for traffic prior to 7:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. each day.

Please contact the City of Tumwater Public Works Department at 360-754-4140 for more information.
