A trip to the WIAA Hardwood Classic at the Tacoma Dome just wasn’t in the cards for the Yelm High School girls basketball team. On Friday, Feb. 22, the Tornadoes fell to the Spartans of Skyline High School in the 4A girls regional tournament at Rogers High School in Puyallup by a score of 61-48.
Had they won, Yelm would have advanced to the quarterfinals of the state tournament next weekend at the Tacoma Dome. Yelm finishes the season with a 20-5 record, and were 4A Narrows League champions.
