Those looking for a festival with great food, fun, and culinary information are in luck, as the Pacific Northwest Mushroom Festival at  the RAC in Lacey features all of the above.

Running from Saturday, July 28, through Sunday, July 29, the festival features a variety of food vendors, music, family entertainment, and most importantly, information and prepared samples of mushrooms.

The fifth annual Northwest Mushroom Festival is presented by the Hawks Prairie Rotary, and Rotary officials are excited to see the event garner so much attention.

“Oh, its been tremendous to see the event grow,” said Joseph Beaulieu of the Hawks Prairie Rotary.  “The atmosphere here is awesome, and it has been enjoyable to see everyone having a great time and enjoying themselves.”

Ostrom’s Mushrooms of Olympia, family owned and operated since 1928, has been a sponsor of the event since it’s inception, and appreciates the wide arrange of activities and opportunities for visitors of the festival.

“People can eat mushrooms, they can see how mushrooms are grown and prepared,” said Fletcher Street, the Director of Marketing and Sales for Ostrom’s.  “So it’s great for awareness of the food, because essentially, people buy mushrooms to eat them.  It’s a fun event, one we are happy and proud to be a part of.”
