The Humanities Washington Speakers Bureau and Harstine Island Community Club will cosponsor a community lecture and discussion entitled “White Privilege: The Other Side of Racial Inquality”. This is an opportunity to understand racial inequality from a new perspective. Teresa Ciabattari, a sociologist at Pacific Lutheran University, regularly teaches about race and racial inequality and will lead an interactive conversation that explores what white privilege is and discusses examples of privilege for individuals and institutions.
This is the tenth year for this series thanks to the efforts of Washington Humanities and the Community Club. Free and open to the public. Come early for coffee and conversation.
