More than 2,000 degrees, certificates and diplomas will be awarded, as South Puget Sound Community College holds it 2014 commencement ceremony June 20, 2014, at 6 p.m. on the grounds of the campus’ soccer field. That all adds up to the largest graduating cohort in the history of the college.  More than 1,300 associate degrees and nearly 625 certificates will be awarded. 72 students have earned their high school diplomas, and another 319 have earned their GEDs.

Paralegal Professor George Darkenwald will deliver the faculty address, and student Carla Smith will be the student speaker at the event. Darkenwald will retire after 20 years teaching in the Paralegal Program. Smith is a single mother of three who returned to college. She will earn an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Office Administration/Medical Administrative Assistant.
