– The YWCA of Olympia, in conjunction with Intel Corporation, is pleased to announce the panel participants for their FREE community showing of the film Girl RisingIn addition to Tammy Stamfli, YWCA executive director and Rick Meeder, Corporate Affairs Manager from the Intel Corporation, the following panelists are scheduled to appear:

Dr. Rhonda Coats, Vice President for Student Services of South Puget Sound Community College

Jennifer Forester, Executive Director of the South Sound Reading Program

Stephanie Gottschalk Huerta, Group Facilitator for the CIELO Project

Erin Jones, Equity & Achievement Director of the Federal Way School District

Doors for the FREE screening of Girl Rising open at 6:30pm on Friday, May 3 at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts (512 Washington St SE, Olympia 98501).  Tickets will not be sold; however patrons are welcome to “pay what they can” at the door.

 

Girl Rising is presented by 10×10 (a global action campaign for girls’ education and empowerment) and tells the stories of nine extraordinary girls from nine countries, written by nine celebrated writers, and narrated by nine renowned actresses.  Directed by Academy Award nominee, Richard Robbins, Girl Rising showcases the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change the world.
