We are offering a unique day tour looking and listening for Harbor Porpoise, Phocena phocena. Driven locally extinct in 1970s the Harbor Porpoises have been returning to the south puget sound in a big way.
We will be seeking out this mysterious and intelligent small cetacean, and having in-depth discussions of their natural histories, as well as discussing the ecology and history of the puget sound. We will also be collecting data on the porpoises we will be sharing with researchers at the Cascadia Research Collective, and borrowing a hydrohpone array from them. Limited to 10 participants.
