The speaker, Thomas White, directs USAID’s democracy and governance assistance to Ukraine, based in Kyiv. He will explain how democracy development works and why it’s of great importance today, with a focus on Ukraine.

He is a career USAID Foreign Service Officer with twenty years of service, managing programming on behalf of the USAID in Afghanistan, China, Thailand, and Burma/Myanmar prior to his present work in Ukraine. Before USAID, he managed humanitarian assistance programs and post disaster reconstruction activities in Israel and the Palestinian Territories, Sudan and Indonesia.
