The South Puget Sound Community College Drama Program will be tackling a classic this fall, when the program presents A Servant of Two Masters, the classic Venetian comedy by Carlo Goldoni.
The play blends physical and theatrical comedy in the story of Truffaldino, a servant who finds himself trying to fulfill the needs of two masters in an attempt at two payoffs. Of course, hilarity ensues as Truffaldino tries to keep mixed orders straight, all the while trying to satiate his own needs as well. The Hartford Courant calls the play a “…madcap farce, heroic romance, operetta and dramatic dueling with a feminist slash…” and “…freshly funny…wickedly goofy, sometimes bawdy delight.”
The play begins Nov. 15 at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts Main Stage. The play runs from Nov. 15 through 17 and again Nov. 21-24. All showings are at 8 p.m. except the Nov. 17 and 24 showings, which begin at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for the general public, and $10 for students, staff and faculty. The performance on Nov. 21 is a “pay what you can” night.
