Olympia School District – “Learn All About Kindergarten”

Olympia School District to hold new event for incoming kindergarten families.

On Saturday, March 1 the Olympia School District will hold a “Learn All About Kindergarten” informational event for parents and guardians who will have children in kindergarten in the 2014-15 school year. This new event is aimed at providing families with information about the many kindergarten options in the district, explain the registration process and provide information on other topics that will help give young students and
their families an excellent start to the school experience.   It will begin with a general session followed by an informational fair where families can learn about a variety of topics, including:

· How to register for kindergarten (registration begins March 28)
· Half day and full day kindergarten programs
· Riding the bus
· How to use the Skyward system to stay updated on everything from grades to lunch accounts
· Additional options, such as the Hansen Alternative Program, Lincoln Options and Montessori
· Before and after school care
