Olympia Poetry Network – Page to Stage: Bringing Poetry to Life

“Page to Stage: Bringing Poetry to Life” is the subject of the Paul Gillie memorial workshop sponsored by the Olympia Poetry Network on Tuesday, April 7.  Presenter Brian McCracken will explore how can voice, movement, and deliberate audience engagement can give a poem a new life off the page. Techniques used will include theater games, performance mechanics exercises, and memorization tips. Participants should bring a poem to work with. Presenter Brian McCracken co-founded Old Growth Poetry Collective, a performance poetry community in Olympia.
