Join us for The Nisqually Land Trust’s annual Site Steward Workshop!

The Site Stewards program is an opportunity for volunteers to build relationships with Nisqually Land Trust properties. The Nisqually Land Trust is a nonprofit conservation organization. We acquire and manage critical lands to permanently benefit the water, wildlife, and people of the Nisqually River Watershed.

Each volunteer steward “adopts” one of the Land Trust’s protected areas and monitors it periodically for changes, reporting their observations back to Land Trust staff. Site stewards provide the Land Trust valuable information that can inform future stewardship efforts, while also exploring unique natural sites throughout the Nisqually Watershed. If you like spending time outdoors, you might like being a Site Steward!

Nisqually Land Trust properties stretch from DuPont, through Yelm, and up to the border of Mount Rainier National Park, so there are nearby opportunities for residents of both Thurston and Pierce County.

In this workshop you will learn what being a Site Steward is all about, practice making good site observations, and discover resources that will help you during your stewarding. This workshop is for anyone who has interest in learning about the Site Steward program, as well as current Site Stewards who would like a refresher and a chance to meet up with other stewards.

After the meeting, you are welcome to stay for a potluck lunch.

Email Volunteer Coordinator Courtney at americorps@nisquallylandtrust.org with any questions about the workshop.
