To people in the fiction writing business, November is known by the quirky acronym “NaNoWriMo.” That’s National Novel Writing Month. A non-profit organization, NaNoWriMo states its purpose as “valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline.” It wants to inspire “anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.”
On the four Saturdays in November – November 7, 14, 21, 29 – from 1 to 4 p.m., the Tumwater Timberland Library will provide writers a haven for creative work:
- Designated workspace away from distractions
- Internet access, printers, Wi-Fi printing
- Electronic and print source materials
- Supportive and helpful staff members
The Friends of the Tumwater Timberland Library will fuel the creative engines with coffee, tea and snacks.
On November 7, personal inspiration will come in the forms of Washington State Poet Laureate Elizabeth Austen and Seattle Civic Poet Claudia Castro Luna. They will read from their works from 1 to 2 p.m.
