What is mindfulness? How does it help our children strengthen their concentration, engage them in learning and develop a supportive setting where they can thrive?
In this workshop, Jeriann Schriner, shares her approach to teaching mindfulness, a practice of cultivating focused awareness on the present moment. It helps to reduce stress, improve academic performance, develop emotional stability, and strengthen students’ ability to concentrate. Mindfulness nurtures optimism and happiness in our children and helps to eliminate bullying and aggression.
Jeriann Schriner teaches 1-2 grade at the Olympia Community School.
She holds a BA in Cultural Anthropology and a Masters in Teaching.
She is a certified reading specialist and is trained by Mindful
Schools to teach mindfulness in K-12.
