The first program will be dealing with what could be called pre-history, what the Tumwater area was like for the first humans at the end of the ice age. This was a geologic era when there were mastadons and sabre-toothed tigers living in this area and being hunted by the first humans known to reside here. How do we know this? The simple answer is: archaeology.
Our speaker is archaeologist, Dr. Dale Croes. Along with colleagues Vic Kucera and Scott Williams, Dr. Croes will be sharing an illustrated presentation about some of the intriguing archaeological finds in our area and bring us his latest interpretation of what that ancient history looked like for this area. It should be an interesting way to begin the new season of talks here.
The talks take place at noon and the doors open at 11:30 and close as we reach capacity, so come early and enjoy these presentations that are also recorded by TCTV for later airing on the Tumwater channel 26.
