This February, three NOVA teachers attended the winter session of the Learning and the Brain conference in San Francisco. The organization brings neuroscientists, researchers, and clinicians together with educators so that brain science understandings can be bridged into positive applications in the classroom. The focus this winter was Teaching Self-Aware Minds: Using Brain Science to Boost Social and Emotional Skills. While many sessions focused on the developing brain, new understandings in neuroscience are also relevant for the entire life span. The David Campbell, Eric Fleming and Janet Hubbard will share their learning from this and other Learning and the Brain conferences.
