Scoil Rince Slieveloughane – the SRS Dance Company – is the largest, best known Irish dance troupe in the Pacific Northwest.

Begun in 1997, the troupe has performed with The Seattle Theatre Group and with bands such as Magical Strings, Slainte and Burren Boys.  Wherever they go, they delight audiences with lively choreography and a repertoire of both traditional and modern dances.

The company runs dance studios from Monroe to Olympia, offering classes for all ages and interests: beginners, recreational dancers, performance and competition skill levels.

About that name, SRS’s website offers this pronunciation aid:  “skole rinka shleeve lockane.” In Irish it means Hillside Lake Dancing School.
The Friends of the Tumwater Timberland Library are sponsoring this program.
