The Illuminated Ball is a one of a kind event. Start the evening with Gravity Quartet playing ambient music. After the pageant featuring our local dance group RADCO with aerialist highlights and local puppeteer vignettes, we’ll showcase some of our luminaries. Then dance the night away to music by Blind Facsimile. There will be a silent auction, no host wine and beer, and light appetizers. As in years past, we expect the Ball to be a sold out affair. This event is for adults 21 and over. Dress to illuminate! (Whatever that means to you….). This year’s ball features some fabulous lighted headdress pieces available for sale at the auction. Tickets are available at Traditions in Olympia 300 5th Ave SW, Olympia, WA 98501, by calling 360-810-3860, or online at BrownPaperTickets.com.

We rely on small grants, donations and the generosity of individuals, businesses, and corporations to make the Procession a reality. We hope to raise enough money to sustain the Procession through 2017. During the Procession adults and children join together to create varied elements such as puppets, banners and costumes, as well as music and dance. The result is a community expression advancing our cultural commitment to preserve the natural world. On Procession day over 30,000 people will come from surrounding communities lining downtown Olympia streets to view the Procession of the Species Celebration, with over two thousand participants.
