A Learning Right Relations GATHERING with Charlene Krise: The Squaxin Tribe
Charlene will present the history of the Squaxin Island Tribe, including the many 1,000s of years history here in the Budd Bay / Steh-Chass (Deschutes) River watershed. She’ll speak about their culture, traditional ecological knowledge, and the recent renaming of a City of Olympia “Squaxin Park.”
Charlene is the executive director for the Squaxin Island Tribe Museum Library and Research Center and a Tribal Council member of 20 years. For more of Charlene’s story please see our newsletter supplement here.
She will join us for a meal following her presentation and conversation. Bring a dish for the potluck, if you can make it in-person.
