As Harry Potter fans know, the Yule Ball is a grand occasion at Hogwarts. Held in the depths of winter, it signals the coming of a Triwizard Tournament.
Although no tournament is scheduled in our area, the Tumwater Timberland Library announces its own Yule Ball – a magical evening of Potterish celebration – Friday, December 2 from 7-10 p.m.
Timberland wizards will transform the library into a winter wonderland, complete with conjured music, butterbeer and snacks (chocolate frogs are rumored to be on the menu).Here are more enchanting highlights:
- Harry Potter-related crafts and games
- Door prizes
- Scavenger hunt
- Harry Potter movies
- Commemorative photos taken and printed
Guests are encouraged to wear winter finery, Potter-character costumes or other forms of fancy dress.
Teens may register at the Tumwater Information Desk starting November 15. Friends of the Tumwater Timberland Library are sponsoring this event, which takes place after regular library hours; no other library services will be available.
