As summer gives way to fall, public tours at the Governor’s Mansion will begin on September 3rd and 10th, at 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and noon.

Washington’s red brick Georgian-style Governor’s Mansion located on the grounds of the State Capitol campus dates from the early 20th century, a time when the concept of a governor’s mansion was gaining in popularity. Completed in 1909, the Governor’s Mansion has been the home of seventeen governors and their families.

The thirty-minute tour will feature the history of the building, furnishings, art and library collections of the public rooms – the Great Hall, Drawing Room, Library, Ferguson’s Family Room, Gallery, West and East Corridors, State Dining Room and Ballroom.  Tours also include the family photo display of the six state governors who served before the Mansion’s completion.

Reservations – Visit the Department of Enterprise Services’ website to complete an online reservation https://capitol.wa.gov/tours/governors-mansion-tours at least 24 hours in advance. Adult tour guests must show photo identification and all visitors under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The Mansion is accessible to wheelchairs and walkers.
