Surround yourself with likeminded beekeepers, or find out how to get started in the natural living with bees. At any class you may build your own swarm box, observe the active onsite bee colony, and connect with community.
Expect handouts and workshop experience. Urban Evergreen Bee Sanctuary partners with West Central Park to celebrate the need for honey bee exploration. Here is a list of introductory level classes (children are always welcome):
Week 1 (July 16th): Introduction to Natural Beekeeping.
Anatomy of the bee is presented, species discussed, and the presentation of the colony as a ‘One-being’ is introduced.
Week 2 (July 30th): Introduction to the Ancient Reverence for Bees; Historical Practices, and Global Traditions.
Week 3 (August 13th): Exploring Api-therapy;
Uses of Honey, Propolis, and Venom.
