Earth-Feather Sovereign is a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes located in eastern Washington State. Sovereign is inspired by her Ancestors to advocate for her people, all Indigenous people, and all inhabitants of our Mother Earth. Sovereign is known for raising awareness of the pandemic of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) and by becoming founder of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women Washington (MMIWW). Sovereign worked with others to pass legislation in 2018 that began creating a comprehensive data base to track missing Native people. Her efforts also included subsequent legislation to create a Missing Indigenous People’s Taskforce.
Earth-Feather will speak about changes in her life and in the MMIWW program since she last spoke at Learning Right Relations Gatherings several years ago.
