In this class for anyone age 12 or older, students will be guided through the process of designing, carving, and printing their own special cards. Emphasis in the class will be on winter themed designs so let your imagination lead you!
Students will draw and carve their own design onto a block of linoleum. Afterwards ink is rolled onto the uncut surface of the block, then paper laid on top of the inked block and pressure is applied to produce a print. Any areas of the linoleum that have been cut away by tools will remain white when pressed onto a piece of paper. The linocut can be used repeatedly, using different colored inks.
