From ducks to eagles to hummingbirds to woodpeckers, we invite you to join Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and Washington State Parks and Recreation for a morning exploration of the birds of Millersylvania State Park. We’ll briefly learn about some of the birds we might see and some tools you can use to identify birds on your own. Then, we’ll take a mile-long loop through the park and see how many birds we can find! Fun for all ages and all experience levels.

Title: Birding at Millersylvania State Park

Where: Meet by the boat launch in day use

When: Saturday, July 23 from 8:30-10:30ish

What: We’ll do a brief introduction to the different types of birds visitors might see and then go for a 1.1 mile walk around the park looking and listening for birds. We’ll look for evidence of birds using clues from the forest and the marshlands.

Bring: Sturdy shoes, dress in layers, your curiosity for wildlife and their habitats!

Optional: Binoculars, guide books, smart phone—we have extra binoculars and guide books for those who want to borrow some from us.
