Stacy Wakefield will speak about the squatting movement at the Olympia Timberland Library on Wednesday, May 27 from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m.
In the 1990s, Wakefield wrote the underground classic, “Not for Rent” about the squatting community in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. In this talk, the author will share first-hand experiences with this largely undocumented social movement.
