Olympia author Heather Lockman reads from and chats about her Northwest e-novel The Indian Shirt Story—a tale of integrity, celebrity, salmon, and beer set in a fictional (but very familiar) town in South Puget Sound. Editor Helen Hardt calls The Indian Shirt Story “engaging, rich in history, poignant, funny and politically relevant.” Portland Book Review calls it “charming, lovely, funny and sad.”

Heather Lockman has written about history and historic preservation for such publications as American Heritage and The Christian Science Monitor. Her words in appear in bronze on the grounds of the Washington State Capitol, and her documentary videos can be seen in the visitor centers of three Washington State Parks. The Indian Shirt Story, her first novel, may possibly have been influenced by her work with a local historic house museum from the days of the Oregon Trail.
