Erick Lyle will discuss his new book about the art exhibition, Streetopia, a massive anti-gentrification art fair that in 2012 brought together over a hundred artists, writers, and activists with residents of San Francisco’s Tenderloin to consider utopian aspiration for the city and organize opposition to official city plans to redevelop the last of San Francisco’s low-income neighborhoods into a “Dot Com Corridor.” This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Olympia Library. This program will occur after regular library hours and no other services will be available.
