Browsers is pleased to host Olympia artist Cecily Schimdt for the month of September. We will host an opening on Saturday, September 1 from 5:00-7:00 PM. A reading will be held at 6:00 PM.
ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Cecily Schmidt is a writer, visual artist, educator and yoga instructor in Olympia, WA.
She uses creative nonfiction and mixed media artwork to explore the themes of body, family, tragedy, resilience and survival.
She earned a BFA with a focus in drawing and a minor in English from the University of Iowa in 1998. After graduating, she spent four months traveling around the Western United States and eventually relocated to Washington State, where she attended the Master in Teaching Program at The Evergreen State College. She has taught English, humanities and visual art in public high schools since 2004.
