AMERICAN LEGION BAND, LOCAL DAR CHAPTER CELEBRATE HISTORY WITH MUSIC IN THE PARK
The Tanglewilde Recreational Park in Lacey will be alive with patriotic music on the evening of July 24th, 2025. The Department of Washington American Legion Band, sponsored by the Olympia-based Sacajawea Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), will celebrate the 125th anniversary of John Phillip Sousa’s “The Stars and Stripes Forever” with a free Music in the Park event.
With the DAR’s mission of promoting historic preservation, education and patriotism, this patriotic endeavor is suited to the Sacajawea Chapter. The chapter, encompassing Thurston and Lewis counties, is 200-members strong, all descendants of American Revolution patriots.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for the outdoor event. There is no charge to attend, but donations for the band will be welcome.
Sweetlee’s Ice Cream is supporting this event with their presence and will be onsite to sell ice cream to those attending.
