Calm your work-a-day minds and fire up your imagination for a dramatic reading of Agatha Christie’s “A Murder is Announced” at the Lacey Timberland Library on Saturday, November 15 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Christie’s story begins with a strange notice in the village’s morning paper. It seems to advertise an upcoming murder. The beguiling Miss Marple must apply her genius for detection to solve the case.
Members of “Readers Theatre Unlimited,” many of whom are veterans of the stage themselves, delight in presenting literature in casual settings – reading “in character” directly from the scripts in front of their audiences. Costuming, stage sets, blocking, lighting and all the rest are provided by the individual imaginations of audience members. There will be one intermission, during which time audience members may exchange ideas about who-done-it.
