Emanuel Scott has been hired as the head men’s wrestling coach at The Evergreen State College as announced by Associate Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Zeb Hoffman. Scott begins his duties with the Geoducks immediately. Evergreen competes in the NAIA and the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
“We are very excited to welcome Emanuel to The Evergreen State College,” Hoffman said. “His experience and success at the college level will be a tremendous asset we continue to grow our wrestling program.”
Prior to joining the Evergreen coaching staff, Scott was an assistant wrestling coach at Kentucky Wesleyan College starting in the fall of 2023. He was an assistant wrestling coach at Chadron State College (Nebr.) during the 2022-23 season. He served as a graduate assistant wrestling coach at Iowa Lakes Community College in 2020-21 and 2021-22.
“I’m beyond excited to take over the Evergreen wrestling program,” Scott commented. “Today marks the start of a new chapter, and I’m truly looking forward to working alongside the Evergreen athletic department and helping these young athletes grow, both on and off the mat.”
Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sports Management from Northwestern College (Iowa) in 2017. He received a Master of Arts degree in Physical Education from Southwest Minnesota State University in 2023.
While at Kentucky Wesleyan, Scott coached three wrestlers to NCAA Division II Super Region 4 placings. At Chadron State, he coached an NCAA Division II national runner-up and two additional national qualifiers. He also coached an NJCAA national champion, an NJCAA national runner-up, and two junior college All-Americans at Iowa Lakes Community College. He worked with a total of nine national qualifiers during his two years at ILCC.
Scott began his coaching career at the high school level. He was the wrestling coach at Evergreen Valley High School in California for three years.
